Field Trip: Manhattanhenge 2020

Event Description

“As the Sun sets around the time of the summer solstice, it perfectly aligns with Manhattan's east-west numbered streets, creating a radiant glow of light across New York City’s brick and steel canyons.

…join us on Friday, July 10,  for a live, virtual flight across the city’s grid with Museum astrophysicist Jackie Faherty. Learn about the history and astronomy behind this spectacular light display and what makes Manhattanhenge a unique urban phenomenon.”
