Write a Letter
It might seem old school, but receiving a letter can really brighten someone’s day! Take some time to write a letter to a friend or someone who you think could use a pick me up (the elderly, first responders, essential workers, etc). Tell them about your life, draw a picture, share what you miss/admire about them, check in on them, anything you want to include. Maybe you’ll even get one back :)
Nursing Homes Looking for Pen Pals for Residents
Below are links to Facebook posts for Nursing Homes/Assisted Living Facilities that have residents looking for pen pals if you are looking for suggestions. Most of these places are looking for people who can keep up a continued pen pal relationship with people. Talk to your parents before deciding to send mail and give your personal information (return address, name, etc).
If you would like to use a Mountain Alliance return address instead, reach out to Rachel@mountainalliance.org.
If you would like to write an anonymous letter, reach out to whichever nursing home you would like to send mail to in order to figure out the best way to proceed.
