Outdoor Photography Series
This 7-part series is all about learning to capture the beauty of our landscape with a camera. Each week builds on the previous as we learn new aspects of outdoor photography, in and around Watauga County. Often we are accompanied by a knowledgeable photographer from the community providing expert advice and teaching. At the end of the series each photographer picks their best shots for display during the Down Town Boone Art Crawl at Reid’s Café.

Service
Service activities range from projects with local organizations, including the Hospitality House, Wildlife Care Center, Hunger Coalition, National Park Service, Grandfather Mountain, Elk Knob State Park to assisting with hurricane relief projects and our yearly Urban Expedition to Washington, DC.
Through service outings students gain a sense of perspective, understanding and concern for those around them, and a new appreciation for the betterment of the community while gaining insight into social and environmental issues. Youth see the impact their actions and decisions have upon themselves and others. This awareness is crucial in developing the character of tomorrow’s leaders.
